Our book picks for iglu book club: May, June, July 2026

We're very excited to share the upcoming book selections for May, June, and July 2026, so you can plan for the next few months of reading! Please note, the May session is taking place on Thursday 30 April.

If you haven't attended iglu book club before, here's how it works:

It takes place once a month and is led by Rozie Kelly, former sauna host at iglu and author of Kingfisher. 

It's like a normal book club, but in the sauna! You're invited to chat about the chosen book of the month, relax, and of course, get your hot and cold therapy in. At the end of the session, you’re welcome to chill in the seating area for further discussion, a relaxing hot drink and cake or a cookie. ​The session is one and a half hour's long.

If you want to come but don't have time to finish the book, don't worry! Whether you are an avid reader or just love a good chat, sauna and cold plunge, this is a welcoming space for all.

Thursday 30 April, 7pm-8:30pm: No One Is Talking About This by Patricia Lockwood

A Booker Prize-shortlisted novel exploring the absurdity of modern internet life versus the realities of human tragedy.

Thursday 4 June, 7pm-8:30pm: Flashlight by Susan Choi

Longlisted for the Women’s Prize 2026 (alongside book club facilitator Rozie Kelly!) Flashlight explores displacement, memory, identity and the complexities of family life.

Thursday 2 July, 7pm-8:30pm: Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin

This classic tells the story of an American man grappling with his sexuality in 1950s Paris. It explores sexuality, shame and social pressure.

How to book

You can book your place for the next three sessions in one by clicking on the programmes tab on the booking page. This adds a slight discount from booking the sessions individually.

We hope you can sign up for all three, but if not, there’s also an option to book individually too. Just find the specific date you wish to book and choose the book club session on the calendar.

Once you have signed up, either pick the books up at the library or purchase them via World of Books (links above).
