Sauna in a heatwave, yes or no?

Of course, the answer is yes! It's not only safe (if you do it properly) and fun, it's surprisingly good for you. Regular sauna sessions, especially when combined with a cold dip, can help strengthen your immune system throughout the year, whatever the weather.

Why not just lie around in the sun then?
The intense heat in the sauna further increases circulation, boosts blood flow, and gives your cardiovascular system a workout. It also helps train your body to become more efficient at regulating temperature, which encourages you to sweat sooner and this, therefore, helps you stay cooler for longer.
Still sounds a bit warm... where can I cool down?
On these hotter days, you might want to spend more time in the cold plunge pools. If you're feeling adventurous, you could even start with a cold dip before heading into the sauna. Our chilled cold baths are chilled to 7°C, making them feel even more refreshing when the sun is shining.

I just want to sunbathe...
Chill out afterwards at the seating area by the fire, relax in the shade or under the sun rays and work on that post-sauna glow (but please do remember to apply sun cream!)
Any more tips for how to sauna on sunny days?
Drink lots of water, so much water, even more than usual!
Wear sunscreen and reapply it after you’ve had your session - please remember to shower before plunging
Maybe spend a little less time on the sauna and a little more in the cold plunge pools
Always listen to your body and take a break if you need to
On the really hot days, you could come to the earlier sessions or later sessions, when it's a little cooler
Have fun and stay safe.
In short, don't let the sunshine put you off your sauna session. Embrace the weather - you could travel to iglu by foot (there's stunning, shaded walks to both iglu Hebden Bridge and iglu Slaithwaite, bring a picnic, cool off in the plunge pools, soak up some rays, and enjoy that stunning post-sauna summery glow.
